Mr Computer Typist!

One of James' latest things is "typing on the white rectanlge" (Microsoft Word to you and I ...) and then printing it out. He can now type out his name, Mummy and Daddy without help - and he's nearly there with Rebekah too. He asks me how to spell all sorts of words and then looks for the letters on the keyboard. It's been great to watch. :0)

Geting the giggles ... well, sounds ARE funny!

Thought he was going to bust something here ... He started spelling gobbledegook and so I was saying it outloud ... . It all started when he accidentally spelt "Oiii!" which he thought was he thought it was hilarious - and now that tends to be one of the first things he wants to type.

Playing the Leapfrog Explorer game and a cute big brother/little sister moment!

We got this Leapfrog Explorer game for James for his birthday. It's only been fairly recently that he's got more into it and it definitely has improved his interest in letters and spelling. Got this sweet bit of video the other week when James was teaching Bekah how to play ...

Hamming it up for the video ...

... and returning to his former glory "The Cowboy Song" video featured on this blog months ago!

Getting rid of the pink ...

We've started decorating the kids' bedrooms now. James was very pleased to get rid of the hot pink walls in the room which will be his ... He really enjoyed helping us paint too (for about 5 minutes). We're really pleased with how the room has turned out ... no prizes for guessing the theme ... :0) More photos to follow.

Thrilling threading ....

Got the cotton reels out for threading for the first time in ages and both munchkins really enjoyed it. James has now lost interest a bit but Bekah seems to really enjoy it ... I just love her concentration! :0)

"This is my pet snake!" ....

More evidence of James' growing love of letters ... the other day he arranged his cars into a J ! :0)

Daddy got the munchkins some aeroplanes which they've really enjoyed launching from the top of the stairs ...

James is finally getting the hang of using scissors and is always wanting to cut something up at the moment ...

Remember, remember the 5th of November, Gun Powder, Treason and Plot ...

We celebrated the 5th November going to see the local fireworks display with Mark, Lisa and Warren, Jackie and Josh (some friends from church). James really got into the fireworks this year. Bekah was less sure and spent most of the display cuddled up with Uncle Mark!

A week in Norfolk

A few weeks ago (while Daddy had to go to Singapore for work), the munchkins and I decided to head up to Norfolk to see Nanny, Grandad, Auntie Cat and Auntie Lin. It was half term which meant no pre-school or other regular activities so it seemed like the perfect opportunity - and helped Mummy not go round the bend!!! We had a lovely time but surprisingly for me I only took photos one day. On our last day we went to Wells-Nex-the-Sea. I'd never been before and it was such a great day out.

You can catch a little train down to the beach (about a mile away from the town)

Wells has a lovely beach with a selection of really cool beach huts along it ...

A classic photo .... This COULD'VE been such a great one ... and James didn't do it on purpose, honest ...

We thought Grandma might like this one ...

There was definitely some competitive sandcastle building going on ... and that was just the grandparents!

I love this photo!!! Peas in a pod???

Guess who's ready to squash the sandcastles?!

Bekah loves being buried in the sand ...

James found a good spot to watch this digger/dredger thing ...

Riding back on the train

The view from the restaurant where we had lunch

Time for an ice cream!

By the harbour ...

James took these photos ... he's getting pretty good!

We had a lovely time at Wells, and although we missed Daddy we had a lovely week in Norfolk!

A fancy afternoon tea for Auntie Sarah's birthday (just the girls!)

About a week after we moved in it was Auntie Sarah's birthday and so we had a fancy afternoon tea with little cakes and scones. (Just ignore the butter dish ... put it in the mircrowave to soften it up but it splatted everywhere!)

Our dining table has never looked so fancy and posh!

I got out our wedding china (I think this was the first time we used the tea pot) and got out Rebekah's little china tea set too ...

The girls were sooooooooooo cute with their little tea set and cakes! :0)

Check out that little pinky finger sticking out ... I didn't teach her that - must be in the blood!

Auntie Caroline pours ANOTHER cup of juice (well they are small tea cups I suppose!)
