A day at the beach ...

Yesterday we made the most of the glorious weather and headed to West Wittering Beach... along with about a million others! :0) But we had a fantastic day and even though we didn't get to go on Mother's Day (which has been our tradition) because James was sick this more than made up for it! :0) I LOVE this photo!

James' first priority was sand castle building ...

Bekah's first priority was to check out the sea ...

The tide was pretty far out the first time they went so it was quite a walk.

Bekah being goofy ...

Mummy and her little beach baby ....

To pass the time while Daddy and James were getting ice creams Bekah asked Mummy to bury her .... I didn't need asking twice! ;0)

But she escaped ....

So the next time I added a sandcastle on the top ... :0)

(The sandcastle was actually Bekah's idea!)

The sea was AMAZINGLY warm and we had lots of fun jumping waves and splashing about ...

We had a wonderful day at the beach!

Paddling Pool fun with Josh

This afternoon the Kluckow family invited us over for some paddling pool fun ... the kids LOVED it! This is the first paddling pool action they've had this year.

Bekah decided to try out some more of Josh's proper swimming gear ...

Time out for a biscuit break!

Time for some bouncing to warm up!

Thank you, Kluckow Family! We had a lovely afternoon!

Our cocoons ...

It was brilliant watching our tiny little caterpillars grow into big fat ones ... then turn into cocoons and then to butterflies. God's creation is amazing! :0)

Our first butterfly!

After a few days it was time to set them free ...

Bekah was giving them a clap to encourage them to fly off ...

This one was a bit hesitant to fly off ... so it gave Bekah chance to have a good look before he decided it was less scary to face the world .... :0)

Bucklebury Farm with Lio, Jelly (short for Evangeline!) and Josh!

A week or so ago we went to Bucklebury Farm with some friends. We had a great time but never did get that perfect photo of all 5 kids on the tractor .... :0)

Love this photo of James :0)

We bumped into Kezia and her friend Katie while we were there!

We didn't know Uncle Tris and Kezia were also planning a trip to the farm that day so it was good fun to bump into them!

Time for lunch!

Feeding the lambs

The girls were wiped out by the time we got home (and if you look closely covered with chocolate!).

James and his new vegetable patch!

Since James' vegetables have been growing so well we decided to allocate a bigger part of the garden for his vegetable patch. Thanks, Grandad for all your hard work! James is very proud of it.

Digging out the new vegetable patch with Grandad

A well deserved tea break for the gardeners ....

LOVE this photo! :0)

James really wanted me to take a photo of this stone on his work bench ... still not sure why ... :0)

Note to self ... Never ask Bekah to go and wash round her mouth and then forget .... She will turn up 10 minutes later looking like a drowned rat!:0)

Playing with Barbies ... their names are Donna and Crazy Hair .... I kid you not! :0)

Bekah has got quite in to playing with Barbie dolls lately. She has two and came up with the names ... Donna is in the purple dress (and named after her American auntie of the same name!) and the doll in the blue dress is Crazy Hair .... Seems a bit harsh really but when we took out her hair tie it was fairly accurate ... and the name has stuck! :0) She's also got a whole load of Barbie/Sindy furniture that used to belong to me and Auntie Caroline when were little.

Giving "Crazy Hair" a bath (and yes, her hair was still crazy ...) Bekah LOVED doing this.
