Auntie Caroline attempts to put up a deck chair while no one is watching ... they can be a bit tricky, you know ...

How many aunties does it take to put up a deck chair .... ?

Well done, Auntie Caroline!!! Perserverance pays off ...

Chillin' in a deck chair ...

So ... this is what you do with a beach hut!

Grandma helps Kezzie warm-up - not sure how many outfits Kezzie had had on at this point ... let's just say she's not afraid of the sea!!! ;0)

Building sandcastles with Uncle Adrian and Daddy

(Note Daddy and James appear to be using pink buckets ...)

Uncle Adrian and his manly star bucket!!! ;0)

When I asked James what he enjoyed most about the weekend away he said it was playing with Uncle Adrian ... and I think you can see why! ;0)

Time for a spot of lunch at the local pub!

Getting mucky in the sand ;0)

Bekah, what are you doing with Kezzie's wellie boot?!
Mummy, please keep an eye on my boots!!

The cousins loved this teacup ride - they looked really sweet (although the ride did go on a bit ... I was getting dizzy just watching!)

Playing on cars and buses!

James had a blast on the beach!

We gave Mum this heart shaped fishing net for going rock pooling but sadly there weren't any rock pools to explore this time. James used it to scoop up sand and sea weed instead!

Everyone at the end of the Beach Hut day!!

It was a fun weekend and I think Grandma enjoyed it very much! ;0)

The aftermath of a chocolate binge?!?!?!

I gave Bekah a little bit of chocolate biscuit/cookie in the car ... A little bit later James announced "Bekah's got a splodge on her!" .... Which turned out to be an under-statement .. When we turned round she was fast asleep but COVERED in chocolate!!! It looked so funny!!

The legendary Haytor Rocks ...

On our way home the Peacock clan stopped at Haytor Rocks ... It was a pilgrimmage of sorts for Daddy ... There are a few legendary tales of Peacock family trips here when Daddy was a little boy!!! It was very misty when we arrived ... in fact we couldn't even see the rocks to start with but the weather did clear and we had a good little hike!

"Wait for me!!!" Setting off up the hill ...

"Come on, Daddy - keep up!!"

Daddy and the munchkins in front of the legendary Haytor rocks!

One of our little adventurers ...

Wild pony stampede ....

As we were nearing the top of the hill we suddenly heard lots of neighing ... and then suddenly a group of wild ponies ran across in front of us!!! It was really cool, unexpected thing to see!

Nearly there ...

We decided to do a family portrait ...

Nice comb-over, Daddy!! This photo cracks me up everytime!!! ;0)

It was a great place for hide-and-seek!

Close-up of a wild pony hanging out by the ice cream van ...

I think Daddy enjoyed the nostalgic trip and it was a great way to end our weekend away!

James' 3rd birthday!

Last week James turned 3! Although I'd been really looking forward to a week of celebrations I ended up getting the flu at the start of the week ... ;0( It meant his birthday passed in a bit of a blur and I am really disappointed with the photos I took ... Here are just a few ...

Auntie Cat got him this cool loop-the-loop race track!

Thank you, Auntie Cat!

We had birthday brownie when Nanny and Grandad came to visit ...

I used these car candles on his first birthday cake ... little did I know how obsessed with cars he was going to become!!

Uncle Mark and Auntie Lisa got James this funky Thomas hat and scarf set - he looks so cute!

As always, Uncle Mark was desperate to get on the blog ....

Thank you, Auntie Donna! Opening his magnetic car set all the way from the US of A!

James' car park!

We debated about getting James another garage for his cars but in the end we decided to make him this car park/parking lot instead. We built it out of wood and painted on the parking spaces. He spends HOURS parking all his cars!

Make sure you share, Grandad!!!

The cake!! James said "It's a rusty car!!!"

I had big ideas for the cake but being sick threw me for a loop! Grandma came and saved the day by helping me put this together. James seemed to really like it.

Blowing out the candles!

This was the most excited James got on his birthday and so I'm really pleased we made the cake. Thank you, Grandma!!
