James and Mummy on Thomas!

"We're in a tunnel!! We're in a tunnel!!"

Taken from the train

There goes Thomas ...

James even got to shake hands with The Fat Controller aka Sir Topham Hat!

Waving the flag at the next train to arrive .. this one was called Duck (!)

As you can see James LOVED his flag!!

With Grandma on Duck!

How did James' face get so grubby?!

Ahhhh, I think I see the problem ...

I suppose all these steam engines do create a lot of soot .... and James IS attracted to anything dirty ... ;0)

Waving to Grandad and Bekah as we came back to the station

By the River Thames

On the way home we stopped at a restaurant next to the River Thames called The Swan for something to eat. Thank you, Grandma and Grandad for suggesting this day out!!

A cool Nursery Service ...

On Wednesday I finally got to take James and Bekah to a Nursery Service at a church near here which is "a short, interactive service on a Wednesday afternoon for pre-school children with stories, songs and musical instruments , followed by craft, play, action songs, fellowship and refreshments" (I stole this from their flyer but it's the best description!). It was really, really good and I definitely want to take them again. This one happened to be about Jesus calming the storm and walking on water. They did a cool demonstration with a water table and seeing what floated and what sank. James loved this part. They also gave a hand-out to take home and he spent ages (in toddler terms!) colouring this picture in when we got home!

Let's make our own boat!!

Inspired by the Nursery Service we decided to make our own boat the next day ... This is James gluing the sail together.

Now we need a lake for the boat to set sail on ...

Time to see if the boat floats .....

It floats! It floats!

Now it's time to see what else floats and what sinks!

They both loved doing this. It was really sweet watching them play together like this - even if it did mean a dry set of clothes for each of them afterwards! ;0)

Bekah cleans the kitchen floor ...

The other day while I was tidying up the kitchen Bekah found a wipe and started cleaning the floor for me!! She was really funny and singing away while she was doing it - she was so happy. By the time I thought to try and get some video she'd stopped singing but she was still very happy ....

Looks like she had fun ... our daughter is so smiley!

Girls are grubby too!

I once made a comment on this blog about boys being grubby and loving it ... Turns out GIRLS are grubby too!!! This was Bekah after her dinner last night. ;0)

Fun in a box ...

Back to the lake ...

We had so much fun at the lake on Friday that we decided to make the most of the sunny day yesterday (it's been TERRIBLE today - that unpredictable British weather for you!) and go back for another walk around the lake and we took a picnic too. It was lots of fun. James loved exploring - we even got to hear a woodpecker! He was a bit unsure about the noise to start with (he asked to get back in the pushchair!) but he got more excited about it and keeps talking about the woodpecker we heard.

We even saw some daffodils - it must be spring! ;0)

I love it when they chat to each other in the stroller ...

[I know it looks like James is pushing Bekah's head but he was actually trying to get her to look at the camera ... I'm all for that kind of encouragement! ;0) ]

Time to feed the ducks!

We might not have pelicans out here but we did see these cool birds.

After we fed the ducks it was time to feed ourselves!! Picnic time!!

It got a bit chilly while we were having our picnic ...

I told James we needed to shout "Go away clouds!! Come back sun!!" - which he did and he thought it was really funny.

Yeah!! The sun has come back out!!

[Can you tell we took this photo ourselves?!?]

I love doing this kind of thing with my little munchkins!

Bekah did wake up to have her lunch (once the sun came back out!)

Is the TV not big enough for you, Bekah?!?!

This morning Bekah "cruised" from her play table to stand in front of the TV ... She's such a TV addict! Some of you will be pleased to note that we often watch the Disney Playhouse channel here ... even though Darby (from My Friends Tigger and Pooh) has a British accent!!! James also likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Mickey doesn't have a British accent though!!! ;0)

A deadly car plague ....

The other day I noticed all James' cars were upside down ... not sure if a deadly car disease had wiped them all out or they were just sleeping ... Made me smile though. Funny little boy.

Maiden Lake and Playground

My friend Catherine and her 2 munchkins (James and Emily) came over on Friday and she suggested we went for a walk to a lake I didn't even know existed! It's about a 20 minute walk from our house and it is so brilliant. I love it there! We had a great couple of hours.

Playing in the playground - always a new adventure!

Watching the ducks on the lake ...

I love these photos.

A happy compromise ...

The two James' looked so sweet walking along holding hands ... It was the only way we could get them to stick to a good speed ... my James kept dashing off ahead and Catherine's James was happy to dawdle along taking it all in ... we got them to hold hands and so they came to a happy medium!

They were both sparko by the time we got home!

Thank you Catherine, James and Emily for suggesting such a great place to go!

Playing in the garden in the sunshine on Friday afternoon

The trampoline is just the right height for Bekah to pull herself up - she loved it. James was being really sweet and getting toys for Bekah to play with. She really liked the baseball ... must be something to do with her American roots!

A contender for my New Favourite Photo of James?

I love using the zoom lens for these kind of photos!

Looking alot like Mummy ...

Something about this photo really reminds me of me ... maybe it's in the eyes, I'm not sure.

Close-up of Bekah - still no sign of any new teeth yet ...
