A legoland rescue mission!

Since James is so big on his "rescue missions" at the moment, it seemed appropriate that he and Daddy should go on the fire engine ride. It was a competion with 3 other fire engines to see who could get to the fire and put them out first .... Mummy volunteered to sit this one out ...

Go James and Daddy!!!! It almost looks like James was helping in this picture ... he wasn't ...

You have to pump this thing up and down to get the fire engines to move ...

James was more help when it came to squirting the water to put the fire out ...

Yes, the lady working there took pity on them and helped push them back .... they didn't win ...

Shark Bait, Woo-haa-haaa (Finding Nemo reference ...)

[Mummy totally messed up getting this framed right ... oh, standards are slipping!]

"Why is that shark eating my sister? And why is Mummy taking a photo of it?!?!"

The photo we took of James in Legoland, San Diego in 2008!

"Home, James!" Time to jump in a taxi to take us home ...

It was a fun, but exhausting day!

Happy 1st Birthday, Bekah!!!

Our beautiful little girl turned 1 today - how can that be?!?! ;0) Here she is with Grandma. We had a great day ... watch this space for more photos!! The party is on Sunday so hopefully we'll have some good ones from that.

It's become a bit of a tradition for Auntie Caroline to make these brilliant name pictures for her nephews and neices ...

We love it - thank you, Auntie Caroline!!

Grandma and Grandad gave her this cool pushchair/stroller and baby - thank you!!!

Paddling pool fun

Last week we filled up the Bob ball pit with water and all got wet!!! ;0)

Going for a dive??

Bekah has been enjoying the trampoline lately too

She can now pull herself up onto it but sometimes gets a bit stuck!

James' game ...

James enjoyed running about 10ft away shouting "Ready?!?!" (bottom picture) and running and flinging himself into the pool ... I lost count of how many times he did this.

Time to get out!

A duplo "par park" (as James calls car parks/parking lots for some reason!)

Daddy helped James build this a week or two ago and James LOVED parking all his cars in it. Mummy did NOT enjoy trying to keep Bekah away from this exciting looking creation! But it was cool to see James so excited!

Making funny face birthday cakes for Daddy ...

(It gets harder and harder to stop James eating everything in sight when we try and do any baking!!!)

I gave Bekah a mixing bowl and a spoon to help too ...

... but she thought it worked better as a hat!! ;0)

"GOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLL!"

Another trick ... when she hears someone say "Goal!" ... she also did this when James said his ice-cream was COLD at dinner the other night! ;0)

A bit of a shiner ...

Last week we got out the soft chair we bought James for his first birthday thinking Bekah might like it ... within minutes she had stood up on it, tipped it over backwards and gone head first into one of the car boxes!!! She ended up with a big bruise on her cheekbone/eye ...

"Take a photo of me too, Mummy!" ... how could I refuse?!?

A sign of things to come?

Bekah loves my mobile/cell phone at the moment and gets VERY excited when she manages to get hold of it! Maybe she won't have her mother's affliction of Telephone-i-phobia ... ;0)

Father-Son bonding time in PROPER lego class 101

Daddy got a lego tow truck for his birthday and so he and James built it together the other morning. It's the first proper lego (ie not duplo) model they've built together and I think they both really enjoyed it.

The finished tow truck!

Boys and their toys ...

Daddy got a formula one micro-scalectrix for his birthday ... and I think it was a hit with both boys in the house!

Yep, I think they enjoyed it ...

What a good big brother!

The other day James suddenly asked if he could give Bekah her bottle which he's never done before ... These were the resulting photos. They were both so sweet. He offered to do it again the next day but lost interest really quickly after that! Oh well. It was sweet to watch. These photos make Bekah look REALLY big!!!!

Water painting together

We've been doing more arty stuff again lately and even Bekah has been able to join in!

Hand and foot prints

The other week while James was at preschool Bekah and I did some hand and foot prints. These paints are really cool and she seemed to enjoy it. I was reminded (too late!) that nearly-1-year-olds are even more unpredictable than toddlers with paint so we both got very painty but it was fun!
